The newspaper world has been going through painful changes over recent years,

Falling reading figures, of the papers that is, and declining advertising sales has produced a pincer movement meaning many have been fighting a losing battle. With the internet then pouring over the top of the trenches like American troops arriving late into a world war, the newspaper publishers seem to be on their knees.

They have combated bravely with their own internet presence, but the basic rule that you provide “free” services, yes I understand web advertising etc., it has further eaten into falling budgets. More and more papers are now trying to charge for online access - which with the advent of mobile technology they have had to do something.

Is COP17 much Cop?

posted by enigin in Enigin News, General

Over the past couple of years the UN climate change summits have been covered by the media to a high degree - but this years vital COP17 conference, currently taking place in Durban South Africa, seems to be slipping through the cracks - media wise at least.

In the UK the new is dominated by the financial crisis in Europe and the UK, which is taking the forefront of media coverage - which makes sense as the future of the planet seems to be of little concern to many countries as the Eurozone collapses, with countries falling into oblivion!

When we know that almost half of a business’ energy cost are answerable to lighting alone, saving energy is instantly sounding interesting!

Yet, lighting is not the only energy-sourcing element, when you consider things such as air conditioning for example. As for grocery/food related businesses, a large strain is put on the profit margins because of the energy consumed by refrigeration!

Enigin TV Without the Television

AT Enigin we have a TV station - that will be a surprise to many who work at Enigin, even some of the directors.

They will start searching the office now to try and find which broom cupboard has been converted to studio space, bu they will not find anything.

It is offsite, truly offsite as it is a virtual TV Station, and internet TV Station where we can broadcast live and recorded material and set up schedules that we could then release for either subscribers or the general public to navigate to and with the content and adverts we wanted to put out there - all fairly simple as well.

Enigin & The Media

posted by enigin in Enigin News, Uncategorized

IT is great when you find you have been mentioned in some unknown magazine on the other side of the world.

This happened only last week when it came to my notice that the on-line magazine thealternativepress.com, New Jersey’s daily environmentally-friendly all-online alternative to a local newspaper.

They carried a report that Print Tech of Mountainside, New Jersey, had taken a major leap along the road to energy conservation - how?

By installing a state-of-the-art monitoring device, the Eniscope (from Enigin), to assist in determining power factor, peak demand and a host of other indicators to pinpoint Print Tech’s current efficiency level.

The local independent Distributor had made the sale and installation and it was pleasing to see that it made the local press - providing vital publicity.

As Oscar Wilde stated: “There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.”

So being mentioned all around the world in different publications, on-line and on-paper, is vital to all businesses. So thank you thealternativepress.com.
